The Martin Luther King Health Center was founded in 1986 and is the oldest free clinic and pharmacy in Louisiana. The vision of the Martin Luther King Health Center is to improve the health of our community and the patients we serve; and meet the demand for high quality comprehensive healthcare services in a cost-effective manner by putting our patients first, and by serving them with care and compassion. The mission of the Martin Luther King Health Center is to extend primary healthcare and pharmacy services at no cost to uninsured patients with chronic illness who otherwise often forgo routine medical care because of a lack of resources. Eligibility: You must be between the ages of 18 and 64, have a chronic illness (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, heart disease, etc), have a household income of not over 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and have no insurance (Private, Medicaid, or Medicare).


Remarks: Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8am to 4pm; most Saturdays from 8am to noon; All clinic visits are by appointment only. You must call first to enroll in the clinic. All Services available in English and Spanish

Details: Beauregard Agape Community Clinic serves to help meet the health needs of citizens in the Beauregard-DeRidder area of Louisiana who work, but whose resources do not permit adequate access to medical care. It is supported by citizens in the community who are sympathetic to the needs of their fellow citizens. It is a totally volunteer organization staffed by a large number of individuals giving their time, expertise and heart to achieve the mission of the organization. It is a not-for-profit corporation. To be eligible for services at the clinic you must: Be working at least 20 hours per week (or have a spouse who is working at least 20 hours per week) and have a household income not more than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level OR Have been unemployed for less than six months OR Be a self-supporting student enrolled in college, technical school, beauty school, etc.; Have no health insurance of any kind; Be a resident of the Beauregard-DeRidder area (this includes surrounding areas in Vernon and Allen Parishes)
