In 2008, CHP expanded services to address the health care needs of medically underserved rural communities in the greater Harvard and Mendota, Illinois service areas. From our beginnings in the 1970s as the Health Project of the Illinois Migrant Council, to our incorporation as an FQHC in 1991, CHP has grown into a robust network of medical and dental clinics and health screening sites that annually serve over 9,600 patients from all walks of life. The Chicago Heights Community Health Center began providing services in 1997 as a school-linked health center. In 1999, it became the first Aunt Martha’s site to become a Federally Qualified Health Center (our Aurora Community Health Center followed a year later). In 2004, Aunt Martha’s moved the health center into its current location, a clinic which the agency acquired from St. James Hospital.

Aunt Martha’s has become a critical resource for youth and families throughout Illinois, empowering patients and clients to face these issues head-on and find sustainable and tailored solutions that allow them to live a better life. We are unique because of our willingness and eagerness to do more - to not just listen, but understand; to not just support, but strengthen; to not just enlighten, but to lead; and to not just connect, but coordinate.
