In 2002 GMHC, Inc. received its accreditation from Joint Commission Accredited Healthcare Organization. GMHC, Inc. serves the residents of Lauderdale, Kemper, Noxubee, Winston and Oktibbeha Counties. While there are no geographic barriers such as high mountains or unbridged rivers, a significant barrier to care is distance. Residents are widely dispersed through a rural, agricultural area with limited public transportation. Currently, GMHC, Inc. provides care to the medically-underserved population including the uninsured, underinsured and Medicaid/Medicare eligible. We are here to help those in need of ambulatory primary medical care; especially the indigent, uninsured, and underinsured populations that are currently facing access barriers to primary medical care. Through education, preventive care, and routine medical/dental treatment, GMHC, Inc. plans to prepare and empower our patients for a life time of health.
