The neighborhood offered few alternatives where to go to receive treatment, other than a long wait at the local hospital emergency room. Enter Urban Health Plan. In 2009, we brought our expertise serving medically underserved communities to Corona and opened Plaza del Sol Family Health Center. Plaza del Sol is fully paperless – all patient information is kept on secure electronic medical records. Plaza del Sol provides the community with essential and cost-effective primary health care. Services including internal medicine, pediatrics, nutrition and radiology, are offered in one location, making it convenient and easy for residents to receive care. Combined with a convenient six-days-a-week schedule with flexible hours and a culturally sensitive, bilingual staff (80% of whom are from Queens) Plaza del Sol is just what the doctor ordered.
