Morehouse Community Medical Centers, Inc. (MCMC) is a not-for-profit Community Health Center (CHC) located in Bastrop, Louisiana, in Morehouse Parish. This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals. Established in 2002, MCMC received a federal grant in September 2007 to provide care to the uninsured in the original clinic in Bastrop, and serve the residents of Morehouse Parish. The number of clinics has since grown to eight, covering Mer Rouge, Marion, a dedicated pediatric clinic in Bastrop, as well as four school-based health centers.
