Dr. Hartigan and his team handled more than 4,700 patient visits last year at the Community Dental Clinic. “The Piedmont Virginia Dental Health Foundation has kept the Community Dental Clinic going for 12 years,” he says. “I’ve been blessed by this opportunity and so have thousands of others. Our community is stronger for having made quality dental care available for everyone.” In the 12 years, the Clinic has provided more than $10 million in dental services to low income adults and children. Since opening, the Clinic has experienced more than 46,000 patient visits. We’re asking the community - businesses, organizations and individuals - to donate to help fill the gap of $140,000 between funds provided by the Harvest Foundation and patients/Medicaid and our expenses. In addition to providing quality dental services, the Foundation established a Dental Health Coordinator Program, helping local residents become prepared for jobs in the community. We also support students studying dental hygiene along with giving VCU dental students the opportunity for practice experience. The Clinic is for the people and must be supported by the people. Please make a donation this season to enable the Clinic to continue serving our community. Your contribution is tax-deductible.
