Details: Founded in 1970 in Portland, Oregon, the Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest, INC. is an Indian-owned, Indian-operated, non-profit agency. Originally an outpatient substance abuse treatment center, NARA NW now operates a residential family treatment center, an outpatient treatment center, a family resource program, transitional housing for Native women and children, a primary health care clinic and the soon to open Totem Lodge which will serve as the mental health resource location. Details: Albina Head Start has served Portland-s low-income families and children since 1965. It was funded as a Community Action Agency Head Start program in 1965. In 1976, Head Start moved to a new grantee, Albina Ministerial Alliance; a community organization. Albina Head Start, Inc. became a single purpose Head Start grantee with a community based Board of Directors in 1993. Albina Early Head Start began serving infants, toddlers, prenatal mothers and families in 2000.
