I was given an appointment time 10:30 a.m. Aug. 21, 2013, and upon arrival was told all appointments were cancelled because the doctor was unavailable. The woman sitting at the was extremely rude and told me to come back tomorrow. (Aug. 22, 2013)
I ARRIVED ABOUT 9:17 a.m. and the facility was crowded so I decided to ask for another appointment. Once again the same woman - who was rude again, told me she was doing admissions and not giving out appointments at this time and leave my name and number and I will be called with an appointment time. My issue is not with rescheduling, but the attitude of the representative. Customer service is important when you are dealing with the public and it's quite obvious she does not have the personality to deal with the public. She should be removed from dealing with the public and given other responsibilities.

Details: Jessie Trice Community Health Center, Inc., (JTCHC) provide services and/or access to healthcare to students in forty Miami Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS). The physical, mental and behavioral health needs of the students are met by a team of professionals working as a part of the Health Connect in Our Schools (HCiOS) initiative. The HCiOS initiative launched in 2006 is a collaborative effort between The Children’s Trust (TCT), Miami Dade County Health Department (MDCHD) and MDCPS. The Health teams are comprised of a Registered Nurse and a Social Worker for three or four schools and a Licensed Practical Nurse in each school. The teams provide services to meet the students’ immediate school health needs (mental and behavioral health, emergency first aid/CPR, chronic disease management, nutrition counseling, health counseling, health screenings and immunizations), refer if services needed are not provided (dental, pre-natal care) and help connect them to a primary care provider if one is needed. Some services and health teaching/counseling are provided to the faculty, staff and parents/guardians. JTCHC-HCiOS has a Clinical Coordinator and an Administrative Assistant who monitors the program and provides clerical, technical and administrative support.

We have seven (7) facilities located in Midtown Miami, Little Havana-(Miami-Dade), Miami Beach, Coconut Grove and Fort Lauderdale. Details: Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ (M-DCPS) pregnant adolescents are eligible to attend Continuing Opportunities for Purposeful Education (COPE) Center North which provides middle school through high school level education for pregnant and parenting teenagers. This alternative education center is a school of choice where students elect to attend instead of staying in their home schools during pregnancy and after the birth of their children.
