Latest Reviews, Comments, Questions for Toksook Bay Sub-Regional Clinic

Comment from Raul: This is the most dishonest and unprofessional clinic that I've ever seen. There are no doctors here and the placed is run by nurse practitioner s with significantly less education and experience than a doctor. The set up is that there is a nurse practitioner and a Medical assistant and this explains why they have long waiting times inside clinic even when it's empty, or why patients wait a long time to hear back on their calls and messages. Worse yet, is the medical assistant has to do everything including taking x-rays with little training. The medical assistant even do janitorial work and I saw one with a back vacuum....not surprisingly they don't last long. I was seen four times in one year and there were three different MAs. I was told once my appointment was cancelled because they had staffing issues and 'we're in the process of hiring'. The facility will make you come several times for the same thing and do unnecessary testing to milk the insurance. They don't like it when patients question their dubious practices or when you exercise your rights as a patient. I asked to have the x-ray done by a licensed x-ray tech but Russell Swainston only orders the x-ray if done at his place by a MA. In other words, he puts his personal and financial interests ahead of the patients right to choice or what's best for them. Also, its not true that they are 'walk-in' because they will request you make appointment even for things like a lab, but that is not surprising given there is only a NP and one MA attending to patients. The place is so badly understaffed, unprepared, inexperienced, and greedy that people coming as patients here are asking for trouble.......for your own sake avoid this place at all costs! Raul Mendez
