Sound Dental Care addresses barriers to care by bringing mobile dental hygiene services into nursing homes, assisted living facilities, adult family homes, and senior centers.  Scheduling, financial considerations, transportation, and physical limitations are common reasons why many fail to visit a dental office. We help dentists, independent dental hygienists, nurses, nursing aids, care homes, and family members work together on oral health care needs.  A large number of our patients qualify for free treatment via Medicaid.

SOS Health Services of Walla Walla (SOS Clinic) was founded in 2000 by a service-minded physician who recognized a need for health care for the uninsured in the Blue Mountain area. Since the beginning, the SOS Clinic has been a faith-based, non-denominational clinic providing compassionate urgent-care services to people from Dayton to Pendleton. While there is no charge for services at the SOS Clinic, patient donations are encouraged and appreciated.

Volunteers In Medicine Of The Olympics (vimo) Clinic

The Volunteers in Medicine of the Olympics (VIMO) Clinic provides primary medical, mental health care, and referrals for specialty care to adults who live and work on the Olympic Peninsula and do not have access to health care. Patients are asked to donate a minimum of $5 - $25 administrative fee for each visit—payable at the time of the visit. This small fee helps to cover some of our operating costs and keep the clinic open.

We are primarily a learning institution.  Dental hygiene students perfomr all aspects of dental hygiene and preventive care.  Examples inlcude: all exams, adult prophy, child cleanings, initial therapy (deep cleaning), x-rays, polishing teeth, fluoride treatments, sealants, and restorative care (fillings) during certain semesters.

We also have a community clinic in which licensed dentists and dental hygienist offer all services year round including crowns, bridges, onlays, inlays, extractions, limited root canal therapy, and restorative care (fillings).

Remarks: We offer quality dentistry and very reasonable costs. Appointments are typically longer because we are a teaching institution.

At this time, we are attempting to meet the most basic needs for emergency dental care in our community. Currently priority offered is treatment of acute dental infection or pain. The treatment provided will be a prescription for an antibiotic (no pain medications prescribed) and/or extraction of the affected tooth. No follow up treatment will be available. If there are complications after dental treatment, you will need to return on the next available free clinic or seek care at the OMC emergency department. All service is provided free of charge. Please bring whatever funds you can to donate for the service you are provided. No one will be turned away if they cannot donate.
