- Clinic Details: Cass Clinic is a free clinic dedicated to fulfilling the healthcare needs of the underserved population in Detroit by providing community members with free, quality medical care and prescription medications. On Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings, Wayne State University School of Medicine student volunteers help provide these services alongside attending physician Dr. Costea. The Cass Student Health Clinic Program is an opportunity for WSU medical students to gain first-hand experience with patient care under the guidance of an attending physician, and is sponsored by the Aesculapians. The Cass Clinic is organized and operated by seven medical student coordinators each year. We also host Sight Savers, a student-run ophthalmology group that provides free eye exams, and Food Medicine, a student-run nutrition group.
