    • Details: The clinic was originally formed in 1998 by Area Churches Together Serving (ACTS) and was named the ACTS of Caring Clinic. After the clinic began operating under the direction of its own board of directors, the clinic changed its name to the Free Medical Clinic and practiced out of the nursing building at the University of South Carolina-Aiken. Then in 2007, the clinic moved to its current location at 244 Greenville Street NW and the name was changed to the Community Medical Clinic of Aiken County. The CMCAC is an United Way of Aiken County agency and a member of the South Carolina Free Clinic Association, a group created to support and assist each other in improving the quality and availability of health care to the medically underserved through the effective and efficient management of free medical clinics and expanding efforts to other South Carolina communities.
