Clinic Details:The Clinic began seeing patients in September 1999. It provides medical services for the uninsured and underinsured who have acute health needs. The Clinic meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the First Christian Church located at 205 N 7th Street in Estherville, IA. Check-in is between 6:30 and 7:00 pm. There are no appointments. While the Clinic is located in Estherville, it provides services to anyone who has need. For more information stop by the Clinic or call 712-209-1213. Since April 1999 the Clinic has been a part of Upper Des Moines Opportunity, Inc. (UDMO), a Community Action Agency located in Graettinger, IA. It is through UDMO that the Clinic is able to function as a 501(c)(3) agency. The Clinic staff is 100% volunteer. The volunteers currently include a nurse practitioner, four doctors, a staff of nurses, a translator, and a number of non-medical personnel. It is governed by a 13 member Advisory Board, all of whom are volunteers and on which the UDMO Executive Director serves as an ex-officio member.

Details: Primary Health Care (PHC) has been providing medical and dental care to underserved individuals and families living in Des Moines since 1981. Today, we provide care and services in Ames, Marshalltown and Des Moines. PHC has three dental clinics, seven medical clinics and four satellite clinics across these communities. PHC also operates a mobile health unit, which provides care where needed in our service area. Based on the needs of our communities, PHC offers a spectrum of medical and dental services including family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, OB, Title X services, substance abuse, behavioral health, oral medicine, HIV care and services, pharmacy, lab and x-ray. Enabling services are available to help patients with entitlements, case management, transportation, translation and patient education. PHC employs 52 full time physicians, dentists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dental hygienists and licensed social workers. PHC has 375 employees. In 2016, our clinics and programs served 36,898 patients and clients with over 145,988 encounters.
Details: Starting February 5, 2018, the Free Medical Clinic is open every Monday night (except if a major holiday falls on Monday). Patient registration begins at 5:00 PM and patients can be seen from 5:30 to 7:30. The last patient registration is at 7:00. The Clinic is intended to serve people who otherwise lack access to affordable medical care. It is not intended to replace regular health care services for patients who have access to care. Clive Community Services Free Clinic opened its doors in the summer of 2017. Our clinic is a member of the Free Clinics of Iowa Network. Clive Community Services Free Clinic offers basic healthcare through volunteer physicians, nurses and other health professionals at no cost to patients. In addition to basic care, the Clinic will host seasonally appropriate events such as a Back to School event for school physicals and vaccinations, a Sports Physical event and Flu Shot Clinics. Special events such as a Mobile Dental Clinic and vision screenings will be offered as available.
