After the sale of Hotel Dieu Hospital in 1992, the Daughters transitioned their efforts, establishing a community health ministry known today as Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans. Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans offers primary and preventive health services that address the needs of the total individual - body, mind and spirit. Our 10 health centers are conveniently located in Algiers, Bywater, Carrollton, Gentilly, Gretna, Kenner, Louisa, Metairie, New Orleans East and Prytania. We provide care for chronic illnesses such as asthma, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and depression. Women's health, behavioral/mental health, dental, optometry, pharmacy, podiatry and Women, Infants and Children (WIC) services are also available at select health centers. We are a proud member of Ascension Health, the nation’s largest Catholic and non-profit health care system. Our mission, similar to that of other Ascension Health ministries, is to improve the health and well-being of our community and to be a presence of the Love of Jesus in the lives of all we serve and with whom we partner.
Details: SCHS is a Federally Qualified Health Center which is federally and state funded to provide primary and preventative care in seven rural-based communities in Southeast Louisiana. The twenty-one service sites are conveniently located in East Baton Rouge, Livingston, Tangipahoa, and St. Helena Parishes. As a private, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, Southeast Community Health Systems offers medical, dental, and behavioral health services, which include mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, obstetrics and gynecology, and podiatry services. Through health education, Southeast Community Health Systems work to empower patients to guide their own health care by working collaboratively with our providers. Southeast Community Health Systems is accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
Details: Calcasieu Community Clinic is a not-for-profit, free health care clinic located at McNeese State University’s Juliet Hardtner Hall College of Nursing. The clinic provides free ambulatory medical care and pharmaceuticals to the low-income, working uninsured in the five parish area of Imperial Calcasieu including Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron and Jefferson Davis.

Our health center is guided by a consumer-majority volunteer board of directors whose mission is to provide comprehensive, high quality health care with compassion and respect for all. Our experienced team provides a broad range of medical and dental services at our main location in Baton Rouge and in satellite clinics located in Donaldsonville and Plaquemine, Louisiana. CareSouth also provides onsite behavioral services in two Ascension Parish public schools. Details: The Rapides Primary Health Care Center began operations as a community based and governed not-for-profit organization in 1996. Rapides Primary Health Care Center has been providing outpatient Medical, Dental, Mental Health healthcare services to our community. RPHCC is a Certified Application Counselor Designated Organization and one of a few health care providers in the community that accepts Medicaid and uninsured patients. RPHCC offers a sliding-fee scale to determine the cost of care for patients without insurance. RPHCC utilizes several programs for under-insured and non-uninsured patients including the Cenla Medication Access Program (CMAP), the LINKS program and the Wellness Program. Rapides Primary Health Care Center is a Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) Deemed facility.
Details: Since 2009, Trinity CHC has been providing affordable access to quality healthcare for people living in and around Central Louisiana. Trinity CHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We are funded in part by the Federal Department of Health & Human Services because our area was shown to be an area with unmet medical needs. FQHCs were specifically created to respond to the health care needs of people limited access to care because of their income, their medical condition, or because of the existence of healthcare professional shortages.
