Latest Reviews, Comments, Questions for Toksook Bay Sub-Regional Clinic

Comment from Jennifer Cook: I really did not want to write a bad review for this place. I however must. This is a small community and the health care is poor not because of the nurses but because of the pa and doctors (who seem to be controlled by and handled) in this community do not know how to deal with difficult cases (rare disorders or disorders that don't follow norms) or assertive patients. Do not ever under any circumstance push for test results or you will get labeled at this clinic (do not exercise your patient rights). Make a call a day to follow up on test results that sort of show up in their sort of working portal. They will say they are in their, go in, provided not provided results. Why contact me to say the results are their? Follow up you can get labeled. Of course they will call you at some point could be 24 or 72 hours who knows. If you go in and you have White Coat Syndrome, this is not the place for you. They will start adding all sorts of stuff on your record, better keep a close eye on it or you will have all sorts of psychological stuff pop up on their even if you see a counselor and have diagnoses. The bottom line is they want everything through them, behavioral health, dental, and medical and will push you to do so by playing gaslighting games. They will listen only to use what you say later. Do not share anything more than you have to, give any personal life details, tell them anything more than they need. Anything extra can lead to miscommunications and labeling. They will think they know more about you than you, your counselor or your own spouse. Worse yet, if you are on medications you have to have because of your severe medical condition and you can't drive, they pretty much control you. Yes they may be nice to your face but watch the shiv in your back on your records because they will do it if you are to much of a pain. As my PA said when asked about what his criteria was for the diagnosis he gave me, the answer was "I can put whatever I want on their". I guess that says everything. The new modern medicine PA's are God. They can put anything on your medical records they want so if you are ever treated odd by a new provider, better get your records and read them, you may be shocked to see that little bit of friendly chit chat you had got blown up into a bad lifestyle choice or inappropriate something or other and it's just you trying to be friendly. Don't ever share your opinion, diet, what you do for fun, if you are religious, anything, and I do mean anything. You must treat all interactions here like a business, like everything you say may be reported back to uncle Sam, because it just may be. This is a a community health center meaning the government is very involved and they have to push the government agenda and if that is to prove woman over a certain age have hysteria or health problems, to get there funding that is what they will do. I worked in this kind of business with my x enough to understand the dynamics of such things. However you as the patient are a victim of the fund grab. Don't expect professionalism from all the staff. If they are having a bad day you will know, trust me. They don't have to act professional, you do. Basically females who are assertive, educated and have private insurance beware, they don't want you. I thought it was me but two other woman on my street who are middle class, educated, with degrees, ran businesses like me, and are pretty well put together but are getting older and have some pretty chronic conditions one almost died, and guess what? They did it to them and they are healthy enough to travel, I can't so I have to deal. So I am putting a word of caution. If you can travel anywhere else than here do so if you are a female, older, with private insurance or like me have both private and government insurance, don't go here. Unless you like being treated like you are a demanding nut case when you try to push for answers that just don't come.
