Clinic Details:Saint James Health is a community health center located in the East Ward of Newark, NJ. Our goal is to bring comprehensive primary care to the community in a setting that is comfortable and accommodating to all visitors of Saint James Health. The health of one self and their family is our top priority. All our services are currently offered in English, Spanish and Portuguese, we accept all insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid as well as self pay.

As the population continued to increase in Newark and its surrounding cities, so did the need for access to quality healthcare. To meet this need we expanded our centers and services. Currently, we have 7 centers in Newark, East Orange, Irvington, and Orange that offer a full range of medical and dental services for children, adults, and seniors.

Details: In 2005, JRMC partnered with Newark Public Schools to increase inner-city access to much needed medical services and health resources. The first Newark School-Based Health Centers were opened on January 2, 2006, at George Washington Carver, Quitman, Barringer, and Malcolm X Shabazz Schools. Our Newark School-Based Health Centers are there for the benefit of the entire community. You do not have to be a student or a family member of a student to use the services of the health center.

Details: The Student Family Health Care Center (SFHCC) is one of the oldest institutions at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Established after the 1967 riots to meet the needs of the medically underserved, this student-run clinic offers free, quality health care to the Newark community. Services include physical examinations, chronic disease management, gynecological care, and psychosocial counseling. All services are provided by volunteer medical students under the supervision of board-certified physicians. There is no charge for an office visit, however, patients may be billed for laboratory and diagnostic services. A charity care program is available for those who do not have the ability to pay for these services.
