About this clinic

Our entire staff is dedicated to providing you and your children the best possible care. Our goal is state of the art, up to date pediatric care for your children, delivered in a compassionate and comforting environment. As a parent, you can be confident that our health care team will be here for you and your child from birth to college, to guide you as they grow, in states of wellness and in times of illness. Valley Pediatrics is your comprehensive center for well and sick child care, immunizations, consultations and allergy shots. Children and adolescents have special needs, both medical and emotional, that are very different from those of an adult. Pediatricians are trained to manage and prevent health problems in children from infancy through high school. Pediatric training or residency requires three or more years of specialized education after medical school. We are here to provide care for newborns, infants, and children through 18 years of age. Our interaction with families takes the pediatrician through all stages of the child's life and development. We are there to advise families every step of the way.

Is this clinic actually free?
Often not entirely. "Free clinic" usually means one of three things: a volunteer clinic with no charge, a community health center with a sliding fee scale based on household size and income, or a clinic that charges a small flat visit fee. A sliding scale can still leave a bill. Ask what the lowest tier costs before you book.
What if I have no income at all?
Most sliding-scale programs have a lowest tier for people with no income, and many accept a signed self-declaration when you have no pay stubs to show. Ask for the clinic's discount program by name and ask what proof they take. Being told "bring proof of income" does not mean you are turned away for having none.
What should I bring to a first visit?
Usually a photo ID, something showing your address, proof of income or a self-declaration, your insurance or Medicaid card if you have one, and a written list of your current medications and doses. Call ahead — requirements vary, and arriving without the right paperwork is the most common reason a first visit gets rescheduled.
Do I need insurance, or immigration documents?
Federally funded health centers serve patients regardless of insurance status and do not require proof of citizenship to provide care. Volunteer and charitable clinics set their own rules. If it matters to you, ask before your visit what they require and what they record.
Is dental care included?
Usually not, and this is the single most common disappointment. Dental is frequently a separate program with its own eligibility, its own waiting list, and a narrower service list — extractions and urgent pain may be covered while fillings, crowns, root canals, and dentures are not. Confirm that dental is offered at this specific location before travelling.
Can I get a prescription refilled here?
Most clinics require an appointment before they will refill anything, and a first appointment can be weeks out. If you are close to running out of a medication you cannot safely stop, say so when you call — say the medication name and how many days you have left. Ask your pharmacy at the same time; pharmacists can sometimes authorise a short emergency supply.
What if I need care today?
This directory cannot arrange care or pass a message to a clinic. For a medical emergency call 911. For a mental health or suicidal crisis call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). For something urgent but not an emergency, an urgent care clinic or a hospital emergency department must evaluate you regardless of ability to pay.
