There are approximately 1,809 people experiencing homelessness in the county and the program provided essential health care to 2,215 people in 2018. Access to health care is provided through coordinated outreach integrated with an elaborate and effective clinic system. Our system has three Health Care Centers located within homeless shelters, five Public Health Department Health Care Centers. The program collaborates with several other Federal Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) to ensure continuity of care and prioritizing limited resources. Dental services are provided through a collaboration with a neighboring FQHC. Medical outreach is an important method of removing barriers to health care for those who are experiencing homelessness.
