Clinic Details:Health Care for the Homeless Pittsburgh provides health care and social services to the homeless population of Allegheny County. We work with other healthcare, social service and community agencies to eliminate the barriers to quality health care for every homeless person in and surrounding Allegheny County. We believe that the homeless deserve quality care that is easily accessible and culturally competent. We recognize that the health needs of homeless individuals are diverse and require a coordinated and comprehensive community response. We will develop and nurture relationships with community stakeholders who strive to improve access to health and social services and availability of permanent housing for the homeless.

Details: The CCFHCC provides completely free care medical and dental care to uninsured and under-insured individuals 19 years-old and older. Under-insured adults are those who have some health insurance, but still cannot afford the medical and/or dental care they need and/or essential medicines (for instance, those that keep blood pressure or diabetes under control). Very often, under-insured individuals have avoided getting treatment that they need for years because of the costs involved. We are here to help! The CCFHCC follows a Volunteer in Medicine (VIM) model that uses the time, talent, and energy of numerous active and retired medical, dental, and non-clinical individuals to provide care and services to our patients.

Details: Since the 1960s, the Matilda H. Theiss Health Center has provided primary health care for people of all ages, including uninsured patients. The Theiss Center is the only federally qualified health center within UPMC, and care is provided by the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Family Medicine.
Details: For more than 70 years, UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital has been a national leader in providing best practice, research-based care and a broad array of innovative psychiatric and addiction services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors at every stage of their recovery. With nearly 400 inpatient psychiatric beds and more than 50 ambulatory programs, we are one of the largest behavioral health care providers affiliated with an academic medical center in the country.
Details: Harbor Light Center, located on Pittsburgh's Northside, ministers to those desiring recovery from alcohol and/or other substance abuse problems. Harbor Light is a licensed, 40-bed residential treatment program for men aged 18 and older. Participants are encouraged and assisted in breaking the chain of drug and alcohol dependency, while receiving education and employment assistance. A spiritual component helps provide residents a firm foundation for recovery. The center provides a long-term, medically-monitored residential program structured to meet the needs of the long-term addict. Counselors meet with residents to structure a program aimed to assist in developing a recovery lifestyle and returning to the community and into stable, affordable housing. The residential program is structured in a three-phase system that may last up to 90 days. Individual and group counseling and family/friend involvement are part of the program. Inpatient and intensive outpatient counseling programs are designed for adults with alcohol and drug abuse problems. Furthermore, a bridge housing program (transitional housing), which can include a stay of up to one year, is available. Harbor Light's services include the following: individual and group counseling; coordination of health care and behavioral health (alcohol and/or other drug treatment and mental health) needs; parenting, budgeting and daily living activity skills; referral to community supportive services.
