Details: The Department of Health works to promote, protect and improve the health and well-being of Tennesseans. Keeping people healthy by preventing problems that contribute to disease and injury is the overall emphasis of the Department. Responsibilities include immunizing children against measles, recruiting doctors to practice in rural medically underserved areas of Tennessee, offering early prenatal care and proper nutrition to pregnant women, ensuring that restaurants meet standards of cleanliness, and performing laboratory tests ensuring safe drinking water.
Details: Since 1991, University Community Health Services has addressed the financial, cultural, and language barriers that prevent access to health care. As a not-for-profit charitable organization, we provide affordable and quality primary medical, dental, and behavioral health care, along with pharmacy services at our Federally Qualified Health Care (FQHC) clinics, and workplace primary care services to private and public employers.

Details: The purpose of Faith Family Medical Clinic is to provide the residents of greater Nashville who do not have health insurance with affordable, quality primary medical care. Faith Family seeks to become the family physician for these residents. With a low-cost primary care provider available to them, people will be able to seek out medical care at the onset of of any problems. Treatment can then begin early-on instead of after their conditions have become more complicated. Clinic patients will also benefit from counseling and education services designed to help them achieve a healthier lifestyle.
