Clinic Details:Rhea County Volunteers in Medicine is a grassroots effort established by concerned community members. The Rhea County VIM clinic opened to patients in February 2010. We are serving patients to our greatest capacity, but we are greatly in need of both material and financial donations. The mission of the Rhea County Volunteers in Medicine is to provide non-emergency medical care within a faith-based, caring environment that will promote health and wellness to the members of our community who may find themselves among the medically underserved.

Details: The dental clinic provides affordable full-service dental care and informational resources to our neighbors within the community. Dental clinics are held weekly to address the oral health needs of our neighbors in the community. Local area dentists and oral surgeons volunteer their time and skills to provide on-site care and treatment for our neighbors. Participants in the Invest Hope program are provided priority access to the clinic’s services. Additionally, aspiring students in the dental health field are provided opportunities for training and internships through the clinic. Oral Health Seminars are held quarterly to provide our neighbors in the community important and practical information on emergency and routine preventive dental care.

A total of 89 primarily rural county health departments operate under the direct supervision of the Tennessee Department of Health, headquartered in Nashville, while the six larger, urban counties – Madison, Shelby, Knox, Davidson, Hamilton and Sullivan – have health departments that operate under local governance but work closely with the Tennessee Department of Health.

In order to better serve our community, extended hours are offered throughout the week to accommodate your busy schedule. For non-insured and low-income patients, we offer a sliding-scale payment plan (based on your income).
