Comment from Heather: I went to this location because I had taken about 20 at home pregnancy test. One brand was clear blue, the other brand was First Response. Out of those 20 tests I took, 15 were positive. I told the planned parenthood staff this, and they told me that drug store tests are not as accurate as their test. Planned parenthood San Ramon administered a test, which rendered negative. I assured the staff it was a possibility that my urine may have been diluted because I had just taken 3 at home tests the day prior to my appt, where it came out positive. They told me that those drugstore tests are not as accurate as their test. Their test are 100% accurate. I asked them if they could check for ectopic pregnancy, and they replied that they only check if I wanted an abortion. I told them I would have some alcohol later, and continue my high intense workout routine which is very intense for a pregnant woman, they said thats perfectly fine because their results are 100% accurate, and it says I was not pregnant. Later I went home and researched the planned parenthood website where it says the words "Drug store tests are accurate 99 out of 100 times. DRUG STORE TESTS ARE JUST AS ACCURATE AS THE ONES THE DOCTOR GIVES YOU" I'm not sure why it says on the planned parenthood website that drug store test are just as accurate as as the doctors offices, because when I told the staff about my test they said those test are not accurate, but theirs are.. I would really recommend that the staff at the San Ramon office read their employee handbook and terminate the man who told me this yesterday. When you are a health professional it is important to give people the correct information and not give them misinformation. The staff said when everything was completed, " If you would like to come back in a few days to re test I would be more than happy". I replied, okay, but thought to myself Why would I come back for a re-test when they reassured me their test is 100% accurate. I have already lots of physicals for different issue just recently before I thought I was pregnant where the doctors say I'm in perfect health. I dont plan to visit any more doctors, I'm going to listen to the Staff that says their test is 100% accurate. No need for retest, I would certainly hope your test is as accurate as you claim, because if something happens to me then I will sue the organization without a doubt Some tips for staff: please, please read the employee handbook!
