Originally called Storefront Youth Action, and then The Storefront Group, Headway was founded in 1970 by a group of suburban parents who wanted to help children and families in crisis in their communities. Their goal, still true today, was “to transform lives by providing hope, healing and empowerment through treatment, intervention and education.”
