Details: Ebenezer Medical Outreach, Inc. (EMO) is a full service medical clinic that provides a multitude of services to the working uninsured of the tri-state regions of West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. EMO services eight counties, with a combined population of 329,453 with 69,185 individuals living at or below the federal poverty guideline. This number of people is 8.6% higher than the national average, according to the 2000 U.S. Census. The Mission of Ebenezer Medical Outreach, Inc. (EMO), is to provide access to free, comprehensive health care, preventative care and pharmaceuticals to the underserved of the Fairfield West community of Huntington and the surrounding areas. We are guided by a system of beliefs recognizing health care as a basic right to which all are entitled.
Details: The West Virginia Children’s Health Project (WVCHP) provides comprehensive primary care to children and adolescents living in rural and somewhat isolated areas of southwestern West Virginia. Access to health care is a problem for these families due to lack of financial resources and transportation. The WVCHP overcomes many of these barriers by providing services to these families out of their Mobile Medical Clinic at weekly clinics conducted at school sites across three counties.
