About this clinic

The Johnson City Community Health Center (JCCHC) marks a new chapter for the Johnson City Downtown Clinic (JCDC), which the College of Nursing has operated since 1990. The JCDC was originally established to serve the needs of the local homeless population in Johnson City and has expanded over the past 28 years to include the uninsured, underinsured, TennCare enrollees, a growing Hispanic population and medically indigent individuals. Patient contacts in the clinic meet primary care, prenatal care and socialization needs of these various population groups.

Dental is frequently a separate program with its own eligibility, its own waiting list, and a narrower service list — extractions and urgent pain may be covered while fillings, crowns, root canals, and dentures are not. Confirm that dental is offered at this specific location before travelling.
Can I get a prescription refilled here?
Most clinics require an appointment before they will refill anything, and a first appointment can be weeks out. If you are close to running out of a medication you cannot safely stop, say so when you call — say the medication name and how many days you have left. Ask your pharmacy at the same time; pharmacists can sometimes authorise a short emergency supply.
What if I need care today?
