Details: St. Mary’s Health Clinics (SMHC) provides free medical care, outreach and education to low-income, uninsured families and individuals who are not eligible for government programs. It was founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, St. Paul Province, upon the belief that healthcare is a basic human right. SMHC works with hundreds of compassionate, caring, and gifted volunteers. SMHC also conducts health promotion, health screening, health education, and outreach in collaboration with community organizations and advocates for healthcare as a basic human right while assisting low-income people to find affordable healthcare coverage.
Details: HOPE Clinic is a free, student-run clinic that was founded and is operated by students from the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth Campus and the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy Duluth Campus. In this way, patients without health care have the opportunity to make the HOPE Clinic a first step towards integrating themselves into the local health care system. HOPE Clinic is staffed by medical and pharmacy student volunteers that are under the supervision of licensed physicians and pharmacists. The HOPE Clinic Executive Board is composed of seven student members and two faculty advisors that meet weekly to keep the clinic running smoothly. Each week, one of the seven student board members also acts as the clinic coordinator during the clinic hours every Tuesday. Through the clinic, volunteers become aware of the needs of the uninsured, have the opportunity to develop inter-professional relationships across disciplines of medicine, practice interviewing and physical exam skills, and help patients with medication reviews and medication education under the direction of physician and pharmacist mentors to promote health and improve the quality of life for patients.
Details: Health Start School Based Clinics are part of Minnesota Community Care, a private, nonprofit community clinic. We provide integrated wellness care at 10 public high schools in St. Paul-AGAPE, Central, Como, Creative Arts, Gordon Parks, Harding, Highland, Humboldt, Johnson, and Washington. Details: Scott County Public Health's mobile clinic is a free medical clinic for uninsured and under-insured Scott County residents. The Scott County Mobile Health Clinic is made possible by a partnership between Scott County Public Health and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC). Scott County Public Health provides all the medical and nursing services for the clinic. The SMSC provides the Mobile Health Unit. Public Health’s partnership with SMSC enables the clinic to be brought directly to those in need by traveling to various locations within Scott County every two to three weeks.
