Details: Poverty and homelessness put self care on the back burner. Women who experience poverty and homelessness often don’t know anything else and have little to no support. With the high cost of health care, many women don’t know where to turn. They often skip preventative care and ignore dangerous symptoms, which only makes their situation worse. Many low-cost and free clinics aren’t able to offer women’s health services because they are already overburdened. The Women’s Clinic is the ONLY clinic in the area that offers free medical, behavioral health, and a suite of wrap-around services. We have a holistic approach to health, caring not only for the physical body, but providing spiritual and social services as well.
