It was founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, St. Paul Province, upon the belief that healthcare is a basic human right. SMHC works with hundreds of compassionate, caring, and gifted volunteers. SMHC also conducts health promotion, health screening, health education, and outreach in collaboration with community organizations and advocates for healthcare as a basic human right while assisting low-income people to find affordable healthcare coverage.
