About this clinic

At its core, Brighter Way Institute was established with a singular vision in mind: to offer top-notch dental care services to everyone, with a particular focus on aiding the most vulnerable members of our society, including unsheltered individuals. If you are a patient from the community and are unable to afford quality dentistry, our Dental/Implant Surgery Center may be the perfect place for you. As a non-profit organization, one of our main goals is to provide comprehensive and high-quality dental care at a discounted rate to individuals who are experiencing a decline in their quality of life and/or health due to a lack of sufficient funds for proper care. Our center is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offers a beautifully appointed environment for your comfort. By allowing us to treat your dental needs, you are also contributing to our primary mission of providing exceptional care to our veterans, the unhoused population, domestic violence victims, and many other vulnerable populations in need. We gladly accept most AHCCCS plans and private insurance, enabling us to provide treatment to patients who may be underinsured or lack insurance altogether. By adopting a pay-it-forward approach, we are able to deliver exceptional, empathetic care, irrespective of an individual's legal or financial circumstances. Our patient-centered approach ensures that dental healthcare is more accessible, reliable, and secure. We are delighted to serve you and sincerely appreciate your support of our mission.

Common Questions About Free and Low-Cost Clinics

General guidance for visitors. It is not medical advice and it does not describe Brighter Way Dental Center's current policy — call the clinic to confirm anything below.

Is this clinic actually free?
Often not entirely. "Free clinic" usually means one of three things: a volunteer clinic with no charge, a community health center with a sliding fee scale based on household size and income, or a clinic that charges a small flat visit fee. A sliding scale can still leave a bill. Ask what the lowest tier costs before you book.
What if I have no income at all?
Most sliding-scale programs have a lowest tier for people with no income, and many accept a signed self-declaration when you have no pay stubs to show. Ask for the clinic's discount program by name and ask what proof they take. Being told "bring proof of income" does not mean you are turned away for having none.
What should I bring to a first visit?
Usually a photo ID, something showing your address, proof of income or a self-declaration, your insurance or Medicaid card if you have one, and a written list of your current medications and doses. Call ahead — requirements vary, and arriving without the right paperwork is the most common reason a first visit gets rescheduled.
Do I need insurance, or immigration documents?
Federally funded health centers serve patients regardless of insurance status and do not require proof of citizenship to provide care. Volunteer and charitable clinics set their own rules. If it matters to you, ask before your visit what they require and what they record.
Is dental care included?
Usually not, and this is the single most common disappointment. Dental is frequently a separate program with its own eligibility, its own waiting list, and a narrower service list — extractions and urgent pain may be covered while fillings, crowns, root canals, and dentures are not. Confirm that dental is offered at this specific location before travelling.
Can I get a prescription refilled here?
Most clinics require an appointment before they will refill anything, and a first appointment can be weeks out. If you are close to running out of a medication you cannot safely stop, say so when you call — say the medication name and how many days you have left. Ask your pharmacy at the same time; pharmacists can sometimes authorise a short emergency supply.
What if I need care today?
This directory cannot arrange care or pass a message to a clinic. For a medical emergency call 911. For a mental health or suicidal crisis call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). For something urgent but not an emergency, an urgent care clinic or a hospital emergency department must evaluate you regardless of ability to pay.

Please tell us through Suggest an Update rather than the feedback form above — corrections go to an editor, feedback does not. Hours, costs, and closures are the details that go stale fastest.
